- Method
- Amorphous samples of composition Mg$_{(1−x)}$Fe$_x$SiO$_3$ were synthesized with a sol-gel method using nitrates as precursors. The method is described in detail in Gillot et al. (2009). The powder of amorphous silicate Mg$_{(1-x)}$Fe$_x$SiO$_3$, x=0.2, was then annealed at 500$\circ$C in an oven with a gas streaming (Ar + 10% H2) for 3 hours.
