Sample holder
The diamond windows were loaded into a cell, enabling temp. up to 300C under vacuum (from 10-4 mbar down to 10-7 mbar). Optical access is permitted from both sides of the cell through KBr windows, thus enabling measurements in transmission.

Analysis
a linear baseline (as defined between 4000 and 3700 cm-1) and a spline baseline were calculated and subtracted from the raw data. The resulting spectra were normalized to the intensity of the 10 µm silicate Si–O stretching band (1000 cm-1)
