Sample
Embedded/polished cellulose pellet pyrolyzed at 1000°C (this sample)
Processing steps
Step Chronology Date Type Process Changes
#1 during layer formation pressure 0.06g of cellulose powder are pressed in a pressing tool of 13mm diameter under 2 tons load
#2 after layer formation pressure pellets were outgassed in vacuum (pressure 0.01 mbar) for 3 hours
#3 after layer formation thermal pellets were heated (180K/h) to 1000°C under Ar atmosphere, kept for 2 hours at reaction temperature, cool-down at 180K/h release of volatile elements and groups
#4 after layer formation mechanical pellet rear side was embedded in epoxy resin (25mm diam.), after that the front side was polished
